Very much like humans except very large. They are towering humanoids. They have thick, large bones to support their size. They grow steadily and slowly their whole life. They grow fastest in the first fifty years getting to 90% of their height. Their growth slows after that to help support their body and weight. They are very strong due to their size and their muscles are overdeveloped to help support their size. However, they are also rather slow and have a metabolism to match it. This slow metabolism makes them sleep a lot, most need to sleep at least half a day to be rested. Mountain Giants are the largest of the Giant Sub-Races averaging 15 feet in height and Voadkyn are the smallest averaging just under 10 feet.
Varies greatly. Can be of any Ethos.
Of all the races walking the world of Tirradyn, the Giants are the eldest. They were one of first to be created, They were created as slave labor to the first and old Gods of the land, builders for the gods. Forced to watch over the lush plains and rolling hills, to guard the snow-capped mountaintops and wander the desert wastes. It is said that the Dragons of Old came and freed the Giants from the Gods, but did not treat them much better, making them their warriors and champions. They did train them, teach them and eventually, as the Dragons faded back, freed them entirely to do as they please. These days, the giants rarely follow the gods when given the choice to do otherwise.
Most giantish names depend on their sub-race. They like names with long sounds, but tend to mimic the naming convention of the area where they live.
Giants tend to live in large fields or open spaces when possible, as they need large spaces to rest, but they seem almost afraid of going underground. They don’t mind living around smaller races, though not so many of the smaller races say the same of having Giant neighbors.
Varies, depends on sub-race.
Resistant to Bash and gain advantage on Strength Checks, but disadvantage on Reflex Saves.
