General Physical Description & Biology

Slimes are a race of semi-liquid genderless beings that are partially transparent. Within them, they have a Core which is part of what holds them together and is the 'core' of their being. They come in a variety of colors, usually one suited to the environment they spend most of their growing period in as new slimes. With green slimes being in forest or grassland types areas where darker slimes like purple are raised in caves or underground. Their color once established cannot be changed but may get lighter or darker as they age. A slime is capable of changing their shape though the amount of slime they have can never exceed their maximum nor should it ever go below their minimum without risking harm to their core. There are some unique characteristics related to the slime's color as well. The smallest slime is around 5 gallons to the biggest slime being around 18 gallons of liquid. All slimes are adults given how they reproduce by splitting off part of their slime after gathering genetic materials from an appropriate source. All slimes have a base scent, though like all odors these can be masked if measures are taken.

Varies, but most tend to be extremely reclusive and try to keep out of sight and out of mind.

Origin and Lore

The first slime originated from an alchemical experiment that failed. It is said they were made from acidic experiments to help make the liquid safer to transport. These failed experiments were thrown away and it is said this is where slimes originated- in the garbage of failure. As such, Ravidya is quite taken with them as a sentient creature. They started as mindless monsters that absorbed material, but over time, and perhaps by the Goddesses curiosity on the failure, they developed Sentience. Over time, some of the creatures split and grew and one took a new form. A humanoid form that was able to speak and think. They seem to evolve quickly for a creature, growing from the humble failed origins into a sentient being over the generations.

Each color slime has a different preferred habitat and temperature. Slimes can be found anywhere if one knows where and what to look for. They do like water since they are made of mostly water.
