The History of Akahram

Keywords: AKAHRAM
The Wulfruden have a tale that they tell during the great festival. A tell of their beginnings and how they and the Akahraman's came to be. It is said that those of both tribes, were that of any man with no added strength or ability. One day during their festival many hundreds of years ago, a spirit walked into their camp. It was not like a spirit of man, or undead but that of a beast. A great elk buck with tiny white flowers in the shape of bells that covered each spike of his antlers. The beast spoke though not with his mouth the way man might, but through its thoughts. The sound of the bells carried with a feminine breeze of words spoken in their minds. There had been a great war among the gods and Kasim had grown in strength and power. Gods had fallen. Gods had been killed. The balance of the realm had been greatly tipped in Death's favor. Nature had great fear for the protection of the realm and thus herself. Saying she had sought out the two tribes because of their great love of her and her gifts. She asked if they would stand with others and defend her if needed. There was not one among them that refused her, each stepping forward to pledge their lives to Nature, and in that pledge, when it was complete and their blood spilled into the soil by their own hand and their own blade, were made into what they are now. One tribe of the cat, the other that of the wolf. War with Balmorral later divided them and their beliefs. The Akahramn's having turned toward the darker aspects of nature, the Wulfruden that of the light. At that time, the Underworld belonged to Kasim, it was hers before any others. She sought to bring down Nature, to force her to surrender so that she, Kasim, could wield Nature's power, and control both life and death. She began to corrupt the Akahraman's, and eventually succeeded in dividing them from their allegiance with Wulfruden and Nature. Those of the Wulfruden traveled south across the great waters to green lands where they could live in peace. Their experience with Balmorral and their holy zealots helping in their choice to keep themselves hidden from the realm. Those of the cat went west, traveling into the desert. Kasim lead them to a great temple whose shape was that of a form. The body of a lion, though its head was that of a man. It is said, that Kasim lead them to the very mouth of Death and this is where they made their home. Their loyalties now with death. What they are is secret as well, to the point that anyone who openly displays their gift is instantly killed and sent to their god.
