syntax: awareness Awareness heightens your sense of hearing, and makes
you more paranoid of your surroundings. Awareness makes It difficult to
sleep in the paranoid state when there are a lot of people nearby. You are
instantly awakened when you sense a person walk into the room where you are
sleeping. Typing awareness by itself will toggle it on or off.

Remarks: A creature's awareness is a passive value of 10 + <Wisdom>. This value should be considered a person's normal perception of things in their surroundings. For example, should a player be cooking at a fire and a creature try to sneak up on them a DM would roll a <stealth> check; should the resulting value be below the passive awareness of the character, they would be alerted to the incoming threat.
