Centaurs are special race that must be
requested to play via immrequest to imm with immrequest subject Requesting Centaur Character. In this immrequest, please include a brief history of the character you wish to create so that staff can determine if you will be playing this race as it should be.

GENERAL:
Centaurs are hybrid creatures consisting of the body of a horse, and the upper torso of a human, connected where the horse's neck would normally be. It is unclear how this union came about, as horses and humans are not compatible with each other, but some say the first centaurs were created by one of the gods. Ranging from Piebold, Paint, Buckskin, Palamino, Appoloosa, Blacks, Chestnuts, Livers and Roans. They can be found in any coloration of fur, manes and tails. Hair can be hued as well but one does not find a blue or pink haired centaur. Their upper human bodies can range in skin coloring from fair and freckled, to sunkissed or mocha. Their eyes are slanted and almond shaped with facial features a mixture of human and elven. Some might have the pointed ears elves are famed for while others have the more rounded tips.

HOMELAND:
They tend to live in villages in the wilderness where they hunt and forage. The villages of these amazing mystical creatures can be found anywhere really. Majestic forests, mountain summits, desert oasises, to beach front huts and more. Homes are tall and sturdy structures with thick curtains that can be pulled open in the day and closed at night. The homes can be taken down quickly and moved when needed. Which might be often since the Centaur is a nomadic people. Never staying still for long unless they find a special place - one where they feel welcomed and accepted for who they are as a people.

PERSONALITY:
Not a very superstitious race, they are grounded in common sense and very down to earth. Once angered it is adviced to be cautious of them. Once pushed to the breaking point the gentleness is replaced by a raging fire that consumes what has upset them. Living in large nomadic tribes they tend to stick with their own kind since they are familiar with each others ways and beliefs. As a people, they are wary of strangers, which is why they choose to live far from civilizations. A herd mentality lives within the race and they can be rather depressed when not in a social setting that gives them the feeling of community and acceptance. Once in a while there can be found a rogue Centaur who does not want or need what either a tribe or civilization can offer to them but they are rare to be seen.

CULTURE:
Able to live off the land and make their own weapons, foods, clothing and housing, they need little of the outside world. They do welcome trade for goods they have made in the villages to most who might find where they live. If need presents itself, they will cautiously assist those in cities that need aid if they feel the cause is worthy of time and effort on their part to help. Only goods are shared with those of the outside world, since they are not a trusting people with those not of their race. Though once a friendship is made, there is none more loyal then a Centaur. They are a race willing to give their lives for one of their own or one they call friend.

HISTORY:
Centaurs are shrouded in myths and legends even upon Tirradyn. No outsider truly knows where they came from or how they arrived. Stories abound with tales of the Gods making them to watch over other mystical creatures. That they were even a favored army of one of the Divine in particular, though it's never been verified or known which of the Pantheon wanted them in that way. They are mostly Neutral on everything except what affects them personally. Whatever the truth of their history is, they are not one to share it.

COMBAT:
Armed with four hooves and two hands the Centaur are powerful beings built for speed and devastating blows. At an early age they play fight and learn how to use their bodies as well as a multitude of weapons at their disposal. Some favor battle axes, others swords, with bows being another favorite as they can run at top speed and fire off shot after shot towards the enemy. They are most usually thought of as a warrior race, with both males and females able to wield deadly spears and polearms, though centaur mages, druids, and clerics are not unheard of. Thievery is looked down upon and if discovered they will be punished by those in the tribe.

RELIGION:
A healthy respect for all the Divine is taught from birth and though they are not devout to any one God or Goddess. They do have those who choose to worship one diety only. The Tribes hold their Shamans, healers, witches or what ever that Tribe deems to call them in high regard. One such reason being that they themselves do not fully know how they came to be, such knowledge having been lost over time. They worship all the divine in differing ways throughout the year with celebrations and ceremonies known only to them and the tribe they belong to.

BREEDINFO:
Centaurs can breed with each other, of course. They can also breed with equis, though a centaur will always be the outcome. In addition, they are able to breed with humans, elves, and drow, but only a centaur will carry the baby to term, as the others do not have the strength to do so and the child will always be a centaur.

NOTE: For those who seek to play this race, additional information will be provided as determinded by staff.
