IRL Date: October 31 (Halloween)
About the Holiday
On Death's door the space between the living and the dead is the thinnest, marking the day that Kedanna stepped down as the goddess of the dead and passing that to her son Seir. The brief moment of time without a god over the afterlife left a permanent crack between the realms of the living and dead. During the days before and after Death's Door the undead are more active with some spirits only having the power to return during this period.
Traditions
- Candy and Treats for Children (Hikaru): Hikaru, known realm wide for their pumpkins some children on the continent believe at during the midnight hour Death's Door the Remarkable Pumpkin will raise up from a pumpkin patch and fly around the realm delivering candy to good boys and girls that are sincere while ignoring the others.
- Disguise, Costumes and Celebration: In much of the realm, including Tu-Lips, Thathoth, Hikaru and Ariandor, young and old dress up in different costumes, what started as away to scare off evil spirits over the years changed into a more light hearted day of pretend. Parties and costume contests are common on these continents both private and lager gatherings.
- Hunt of the Condemned (Nephilim): On the demon moon great hunts are done during the Death's Door both of animals and what the demons feel are lesser races. Most condemned to death are slain on this day wanting to dyne the spirits any time to linger before being thrown into the afterlife.
- The Glacial Vigil (Aglet): During deaths door the people of Aglet often make ice carvings of loved ones that passed away the year before to help guide them peacefully to the other side. Its also not uncommon for snow to be dyed the favorite color of those that passed away leaving the moon a bright colorful land scape.
