DEMON-SOCIETY

Gargoyles and other lesser Demons form the rank and file of the forces of the hells. Such lesser Demons expect to be beaten, even slain, for even the slightest failure to their masters, and to never rise above their station. Demons nevertheless are bound by their purpose and can rarely escape such a role in life. A Demon is always in fear of those stronger than him or herself, and always under the watchful eye of their demonic lord.

The lesser Demons, besides being mere footsoldiers, also are the workers of the hells, performing menial tasks that the greater Demons issue for them. Such tasks usually involve message running or matters of minor mischief. Not that Demons do not create their own objects. Weapons and armor are common creations, but expect such items to be tainted with a foul curse. All the better to sow chaos and misery, after all.

Demons themselves possess a few minor powers. Lesser demons are often resistant to heat and can create small fires at will. The more powerful the demon, the more powerful the heat that can be radiated from their bodies. Generally, though, lesser demons are similar to mortals in function, if not stronger due to their builds and other-worldly bodies.

Gargoyles are most frequently warriors of some form due to their increased strength, though lesser Demons of all kinds also flock to the path of the rogue or, less commonly, the cleric. Arcane magic is a rarity, for Gargoyles and other lesser Demons rarely possess enough intellect to pull of great spells of that nature, and Druidic powers are even more rare due to the lack of bonding with nature.

Love is an emotion demons rarely feel. After all, rape causes so much more misery in the world! Gargoyles delight in forcing themselves on others, as it is another way to make mortals miserable. Obviously, Demons rarely stick with one partner for long, and will be as rough as possible to make their "lovers" miserable without actually dying.
