Through advancement of travel magics being used in conjunction with epithaphs, waystations, and the like, Magi have developed the ability to link their mana to a living being to draw themselves magically to them. The Dimensional Bonding spell links mana between two people. The target of the spell becomes the recall reference point to the caster of the spell. Through this, the commonly used Recall spell will take the user through a dimensional wormhole that's drawn to the mana left on the affected.
