DOWNDRAFT

Keywords: DOWNDRAFT
Category: magic:spell
Syntax: cast downdraft

Downdraft calls a great rush of wind down upon the target, doing a bit of damage from the sheer force as well as possibly knocking some of the target's equipment to the ground. In order for the caster to do this, the air from the lower part of the room is transported to the top and then quickly thrown downward at the target. The transit of the air is so fast, though, that is changes the pressure in the room as well, and it is not unknown for people's ears to pop when the spell is cast.

REALMS: alteration essence

RP Combat Information:

Spell Type: Ranged AoE
Attack Syntax: 1d20 [Check for Critical Failure]
Damage: <Fall Damage> as described below.
Damage Type: Air
Remarks: Creatures currently flying that are caught in the area of this spell (20ft cylinder of air, 100ft high from a point of the casters line of sight), must succeed on a <Reflex> saving throw at the Caster DC. Upon a failure, they immediately plummet up to 100 feet straight downward, taking falling damage at 1d6 of damage per 10 feet fallen if the downdraft makes them hit the ground or collide with an object. Those who succeed on the <Reflex> saving throw only plummet 50ft. Creatures already on the ground must succeed on a <Reflex> save or be knocked prone by the spell.
