Application for Ruling an Empire
Keywords:
EMPIRE-APPLICATION, RULER-APPLICATION, EMPIRE-APP
Players who wish to rule an empire will need to send an Immrequest to RP. If they wish to rule an existing empire, then their knowledge of the empire and its history will go in their favor, and help tip the scales in their interest.
If a"player wishes to build their own empire, then they would need to send a history or background of the empire with their application, how it fits into the realm, and what the empire will do to help increase role play in the realm.
Ruling an empire is not simply having a nifty title. Rulers are in fact mini-rp imms, who are responsible for putting rp out there for others to play off of, whether that's through setting up alliances, negotiating trades or ports, pulling others in to help with military, advising, running businesses, etc. Building their empire through role play by seeking out goods and products from players and other nations, even planning to conqure or seek to make the realm more peaceful. The sky is the limit, and up to the ruler.
When sending in your application include:
Any major or minor lines that you have taken part in either through creating or playing in it.
Your ideas or plans for role play that can come from the empire you desire.
Things that RP Council will look at when they review an application:
Does the characters concept go well with the concept of the empire, is there a logical, viable means to take over rule. If not, is the player willing to create a new character that would be better suited for what they wish. This is to prevent too much of the creator of the areas concept from being twisted. While it's perfectly fine for things to change, they should happen in the most logical way possible. All concepts and creations are important to us, theirs, as well as yours. So please take this into consideration when you apply.
A troll wanting to take over Baeladar, (a city of elves) would be a hard sell, without some serious effort put into role play, such as a troll invasion. Which would mean starting out your rule in the middle of a war, and risking losing the kingdom rather quickly, if you won the invasion at all.
Ruling an empire is very much like a game of chess, there is always some strategy, or tactic going on, there are always pieces on the board, and your opponents pieces will move, even when you're not participating in the game. Kingdoms can be lost through war and conquest, as easily as they were gained, your kingdom can increase, or decrease, according to how each individual ruler plays. If an empire decided to go to war with a ruler, it can not be declined oocly, and will need to be played out.
How active the player is in the mud.
How well does the player get along with other players, helpful to newbies, and are they respectful to both players and staff as a whole.
Do they participate in role play when available, or come up with their own lines.
Do they have a history of conflicts with Law, do they follow the rules most of the time.
Keep in mind, that not everyone who applies for a kingdom is going to be able to get one. If your application is declined, you will be given a reason why. If you're serious about your desire to rule, then look at the reasons you were given, and make modifications accordingly. If you are approved to rule an empire, you will be required to fill out a template on the empire if one is not already in place.
If a player already rules with an alt, then they are unable to apply to rule another kingdom. One rulership per player, prevents any lines from being crossed, and enables everyone to have a chance to rule if they desire to and are approved. (This doesn't mean that other empires can not be conqured by the players already approved ruler and fall under their domain as an occupied village, city, kingdom etc.}
As with everything that needs to be applied for, do not rp that your character is a ruler after sending in the application. Assume the answer is no, until you are told otherwise.
