The God Grakor

Keywords: GRAKOR
AKA: The Light Father, the Lord of Strength

Diety of: Strength, the Sun, the Orcish Race

Form:
An eight foot tall Orc, with short hair. He typically has a goatee of the purest white, and yellow eyes that cast sunlight. He constantly emits a glow, and generally wears a simple outfit of white leather over his impossibly muscular form.

Grakor's Colors: White and Yellow

Grakor's Symbol: A white hexagram within a yellow sunburst.

Favored Weapon: Fists or Fist Weapons

Followers:
As god of the sun, Grakor is paid at least some respect by farmers, whose livelihood depends on the light of the sun. This role has also given him the faith of many undead hunting bands and knightly orders. As the god of strength, he is also seen as the chosen deity for many athletes. He is also the primary god of the orcs, and most of the more savage races. Most of his adventuring followers tend to be warriors, rangers, and clerics more than other professions.

Grakor's Tenets:
1) Strength is not given, it is earned.
2) Improve yourself always, and help others do the same.
3) Give the undead the peace they deserve.

Personal Views and Beliefs:
Strength plays a very large role in Grakor's views and tenets, both physical and of will. Strength is something that is earned, and it is something everyone should strive for in many aspects of life. One should always strengthen himself, but also work with others to encourage them to reach their own full potential as well.

Grakor is generally considered one of the primarily good-aligned deities, and he serves as a light in the growing darkness around Tirradyn. In particular, the followers of Grakor seek to put an end to the undead. This isn't a blind hatred. A ghost that can be put to rest peacefully should be done so over force, but otherwise force may be necessary. Vampires in particular hold Grakor's ire, and it is believed that this is one of the main reasons why the sun harms them as it does.

The Pantheon:
Grakor has very few direct enemies within the pantheon. He keeps a fairly neutral stance in most cases, though his followers don't tend to do the same.

Grakor's followers tend to be in direct opposition with those of Seir and Drugaal. The former is near the complete opposite of Grakor: While Grakor tends to be physical, obvious, and benevolent, Seir is more mental, deceptive, and evil. Grakor has not actually had a direct conflict with Seir, and it's assumed that he has some grudging respect for the evil deity, partly because there could be far worse beings to deal with on a daily basis.

Such as Drugaal, who neither Grakor nor his followers even attempts to hide their dislike of. Drugaal worship often competes with Grakor for the loyalty of the more primative races (such as orcs and trolls,) though often most tribes end up respecting both. Still, Grakor has had a direct conflict with the troll god at least once.

Relations with the other deities tend to be relatively positive. Sendak is generally viewed favorably for acting for the sake of good (even if a bit extreme at times,) and Grakor has been allied with him in the past. Grakor's followers also tend to view the followers of Kestia, Sheylynn, and Aerius with a good deal of respect. As for Kedanna...that can be hit or miss, depending on the day.
