IC Death

A death is considered IC when you are killed within the course of an RP scene. Deaths while leveling are not considered IC deaths. (For information on death from mobs, refer to help death.)
By default, a player is allowed two IC deaths that they can come back from. However, at Quest Offices, a player can buy back ONE IC life with an Extra IC Life. This is a quest item that can be purchased ONE TIME by questing and be used to buy back ONE IC life, which is the last life allowed to the player. This token must already be purchased by the player at the time of their second IC death to be used.
While the assailants can do as they wish with the corpse, a player cannot be looted. Once dead, the soul of the character goes to the Realm of the Dead, where they must speak with the God of the Underword -- Seir -- the God of Life, or a powerful cleric who has the resurrection spell. (For information, see help resurrection.)
After the LAST IC death, a player cannot come back. There are no exceptions to this rule, as after this death the Lord of Death claims the soul as his own for all of eternity: they already had a chance to correct their prior mistakes. After this death, a player's equipment can be looted, however, quest equipment, relics and Divine Armory gear cannot be looted, ever.
After an IC death, an immreq to imm should be sent by both the killer (if the killer is a PC) and by the deceased with the IC reasonings and details of the attack/death. If either player wishes to dispute the death, they must save a full log of the events. Do not edit the log at all. In addition to the log, an immreq to imm should be sent describing the dispute. Give as much detail as you can in death-notes, as it is important to keep all the information chronicled.
For information on how to conduct an IC fight, please refer to help rp-fight. If you wish for a moderator to watch over your fight, use the needimm command to flag yourself as needing immortal assistance to step in. Do not use the think or pray command unless you are not given a response from needimm after 10 minutes. You should not ask for immortal assistance on ooc: the needimm command exists for a reason. If there is no moderator available, you can pause the scene and send an immreq to imm requesting assistance in the future, or find a way around the fight. You should not have an IC fighting scene if the combatants can't agree to the mechanics of the fight, however when an immortal moderates their decisions are final and you should not argue with them (if you believe they moderated unfairly, log the scene and send an immreq to admin). Remember: using common-sense and courtesy to other players is vital.
If your character has long standing roleplay as a living mortal, and roleplay leads to your character being turned into a vampire, this will count as an IC death, as the process to become undead requires that you be dead at some point. Those characters that start out at level 1 wishing to be a vampire can do so without suffering an IC death, as they will be considered to have begun as a vampire.
