IMM-GENERAL

Keywords: IMM-GENERAL, IMMORTAL-GENERAL
The staff, or immortals are here to make The Gathering a better place. Whether to build areas, create new code, or enforce the game rules, what ever their job is, they're here for you. The staff is broken down into the following groups: Admin, Coder, Law, Builder, Roleplay, and lastly Web Master.

The Admin are responsible for conduct of all immortal staff and mortals in the game. If you have a complaint with either of these groups then send a note to Admin, only after sending a note to Law. If you have a problem with Law, then send a note to Admin. We will endeavor to remain free of biases in all matters, however we're only human, and have the same weakness as anyone else. We are available whenever we are online for anything from answering questions to discussing the conduct of immortal staff. The Admin's decisions are final in all matters but will only over rule someone else's decision if the case warrants it.

The Coders are responsible for creating new code for the benefit of the mud as well as for fixing bugs. If you have any ideas for code they should be sent to the Coders. However, it is against the rules to bug the Coders about their current work. That doesn't mean you can't give them ideas, it means you're not to bug them about when code will be done. Unless a member of a different group, Coders have no official power but should be respected for all they do on the mud, and understand they put in a lot of hours for you, for free.

The members of Law are like mud police and their word is law. The members of Law are only below the Admin staff. The members of Law are responsible for making sure both mortals and immortals alike follow the rules and to help settle players' problems. Members of the Law group are also responsible for keeping records of rule breakers.

The Builders are responsible for creating new places on the game, both for the players to roleplay but also places to level. The Builders are also newbie helpers first and foremost. Builders should go out of their way to help newbies find their way around, get into role play as well as answering any and all questions the newbie may have. Builders should also help each other and mortal builders with their projects.

The Role-play immortals are responsible for moving story lines along on the mud as well as creating new ones. Roleplay immortals should also try to make sure everyone has someone else to roleplay with and getting groups that would never usually play together to play together. Roleplay immortals either need to build area to go along with their roleplay, team up with a builder to have the area made, or use existing areas for their storylines.

The Web Master/Mistress is in charge of the website and forums, that person is responsible for keeping speed walks up to date, providing a place for mortal and immortal IC profiles and picture hosting, as well as keeping the website up to date with the game play.

All immortals are to be listened to and respected, if they say not to do something, don't do it. They are here to make the mud a wonderful place to be, also the staff needs to be fair to all players and take their personal feelings aside while dealing with other players. Immortals are to never fight with each other in public channels, and are here to help the mud and as such should act like a team whenever they are able to do so. To become an immortal, there must be an opening for one, and you must meet the requirements to fill that slot before applying for it.
