What they bring back is dependent upon the warrior themselves. Upon the seer's exit from the shiro, the Kai's circlet is presented by the eldest seer (Grand Seer[ess]) to the new Kai. Rarely is the Kai not within Kerbouchard's walls. Afterward the Kai is bonded to the land with a magic ritual and a mark appears upon the brow, extending the life of the Kai significantly, though no one know for how long yet as the Kai has always been slain. Guardian's Trial - with the selection of the new Kai, a new Guardian must be selected. Those selected by the runes, must begin the trek across the lands to Orma's Teeth to pray to what god they choose to worship or the ancestor Guardians. Upon completion of that task, it is back to Kerbouchard, to await the other(s) for combat. It is seen as dishonorable to kill an opponent who yields in battle.
