Kitven rarely form societies of their own, though they may form little towns now and then. Primarily, Kitven live in large cities, especially those of other races, where they can ply their trades and take every opportunity that presents itself. Males and females are on equal terms in Kitven society. Since Kitven rarely have societies completely of their own, this leaves members of the race to more individuality.
Money and wealth are important to every Kitven, who enjoy the sparkling of gold and jewels. Social status is also a thing to strive for for most Kitven, but a difficult thing for them to achieve due to the wariness most other races regard the Ratlings with, and generally for good reason. A few tribes of Kitven do band together at times however, usually gathering in places like city sewers.
The rare times Kitven build or produce anything of their own, the work tends towards a more primitive state, much like most of the amalgam races. They do make certain tools with better quailty, however...things such as daggers and clothing made of leather, which is standard gear for most. Daggers and knives consist as the primary means of weapons for Kitven, both in melee and in ranged combat, though longer-distance weapons like bows aren't unknown.
The natural agility and ease with deciet that a Kitven possesses makes them natural rogues, which is the profession most adventuring Kitven will take. Kitven will sometimes learn more natural pursuits as a ranger, or learn the way of spells as a mage, but these professions tend to be more rare. Kitven will only rarely become true warriors, as fighting facing the enemy isn't the Kitven way, and a lack of faith and desire to heal others makes them shy from the path of the cleric.
Kitven rarely mate for life, tending towards a more promiscuous life-style. Kitven also tend to have a lot of children at once, leading to them being one of the more prolific races in the world (combined with their ability to eat nearly anything and not get ill, making them natural scavengers.) Kitven aren't adverse to sleeping with a member of another race, though finding one who is willing may be a challenge.
