The main housing structure of the Cognatio is a highly valued secret. It is a place of teaching, of learning, of making ignorant Vampire and Dhampiel into the Cognatio they should be. For education of Vampire and Dhampiel is the main focus of the Cognatio.
A tenet of the Cognatio is that all the God's of Tirradyn are to be shown the respect they deserve, for they are God's are all powerful, and are not to be openly challenged by any Cognatio.
On the aspect of religion and Gods, a Cognatio is free to follow any God he or she chooses. Indeed, this is enouraged. Yet every Cognatio is to be held to the ancient tenets of the sect. These tenets will be explained to sect members upon their joining.
All information regarding to the Cognatio - the tenets, the members, their activities, and the location(s) of where the Cognatio house - are to kept within the sect only, and not shared with outsiders.
The only way to become involved in the Cognatio are to be recognized by a long standing member of the sect, and brought to the Regent or an Elder. A member of the Cognatio must be afflicted with Vampirism. There are few non-vampire/dhampiel allowed within the sect, for those are only highly trusted by an Elder or the Regent.
