Category: race
Slimes are a race of semi-liquid genderless beings that are partially transparent. They come in a variety of colors, usually one suited to the environment they spend most of their growing period in as new slimes. With green slimes being in forest or grassland types areas where darker slimes like purple are raised in caves or underground. Their color once established cannot be changed but may get lighter or darker as they age. A slime is capable of changing their shape though the amount of slime they have can never exceed their maximum nor should it ever go below their minimum without risking harm to their core. There are some unique characteristics related to the slime's color as well.

Slime Age
It's difficult to tell how old a slime is unless you saw its core being made in the first place. They don't age like one of flesh and blood do so their exact age cannot be determined by appearance. Due to the nature of slimes no child-like behaviors have been spotted or reported either therefore it is assumed all slimes are adults from the moment they are brought into being due to how they reproduce.

Slime Appearance
Although a slime can change its shape at will there's a few constants that are always true about the form they take.

1: A slime always looks like it's made of semi transparent slime of its color.
2: Slimes don't have hair, though they can make it appear as if they do. It's just slime.1 3: Slimes tend to be drippy, though measures can be taken to minimize this.

Slime Height, Weight and Amount of slime
The size of a slime when in human form is between 3 feet and 5 feet tall which equates to an average of 45 lbs to 145 lbs of semi liquid slime. To determine how much liquid this is for RP purposes use the weight of water since that's what a slime mostly is made of which is 8 lbs per gallon. Which makes the smallest slime around 5 gallons to the biggest slime being around 18 gallons of liquid.

The Slime Core and Dormancy
If one looks closely enough (DC 16 Wisdom Check) you can see a small sphere floating about inside them, usually centralized but always moving about. This is their core and while the same color as their slime it is darker and sponge like. The core of a slime is basically their heart and brain rolled into one, if it's destroyed the slime dies. If a slime core is removed from its slime body the slime would immediately lose its shape and drop into a puddle and the core would begin to rapidly dry out (-1 RPHP every 5 minutes until 0). As long as the core remains intact however this does not kill the slime and merely puts them in a dormant state where the core hardens and looks more like an impure gemstone of the corresponding color. If the core is submerged in liquid before it dries up completely the slime can start to reform. If the Core has gone dormant it will take some time for the liquid to seep into the core and awaken it which can take weeks. A core that's just come out of being dormant will need lots of food to fully regain its strength. Extreme bouts of dormancy can affect the slimes memory giving them bouts of temporary amnesia.

A dormant slime core can regenerate into any subspecies of slime (Requires imm approval first to change subspecies) The process is done by first having one's core go dormant for an extended period of time. This is roughly half a year of dormancy. Once this period of time has passed simply revive the core in the manner befitting the slime subspecies you wish the slime to become. The exception to this is the blood slimes. See its page for details.

The Slimes Diet - Omnivore + Specific needs
Most slimes are omnivores, they can eat anything organic be it meat or plant. For a slime to eat or drink anything they merely need to take it into their slime and digest it. A slime that's been properly fed can choose what they do and don't digest though a slime that's starving or just come out of dormancy is more than likely to digest anything it can to regain its strength, A slime in this state can easily be confused as just being an acidic liquid. It's advised you don't go poking at slimes you're not familiar with unless you want to risk getting a few acid burns. Each color slime also has a special diet needed in order to heal and regenerate.

Regenerating Slime
A slime that has lost or otherwise wishes to make more slime up to its maximum racial limit needs a few things, and it's based on the type of slime. Though there are a few constants between all slimes such as the need for food and time to make the slime at a rate of one gallon of slime per hour.

Slimes and Water
Most slimes are made up of water, and therefore need water to survive. While there are some exceptions to this as stated in their corresponding files a slime needs water on a one to one scale to regenerate slime. One gallon of water per gallon of slime that they need. A slime can safely be fully submerged in water without fear of drowning.

Slime Combat and Injury
Although slimes don't feel pain, unless their sensitive core takes a direct hit they still take damage when their slime is struck in combat. It may appear as if your sword just slashes through em or the arrow goes in one side and out the other it still causes them damage so calculate it as normal taking IRV's into account. When a slime hits 0 RPHP and is rendered helpless they drop into a puddle where their core is clearly visible and vulnerable.

If you wish to strike at a slimes core directly during combat, it needs to be stated in your post that you are attempting a core strike and then roll to hit, then you must make a SECOND roll and get a NATURAL 18+ on your dice to have successfully hit the core. If the core is hit the slime needs to roll a DC19 Fortitude save or take 2d5 straight damage (Bypasses IRV's) on top of the regular damage they just sustained and be stunned for the following round.

Due to a slime being a magical creature in nature they have a unique vulnerability to dispel magic. While it does not directly cause harm to the slime it does require the slime to make a Wisdom saving throw or be incapacitated for 1 round. (See Slime_Origins for details)

Slime Breeding:
To breed, a slime needs the genetic material of a compatible race which varies depending on the slime color. When a slime reproduces their core divides into a new dormant core. If they want their offspring to be of the same type of slime they can split off some of their slime. A minimum of 5 gallons worth into a suitable container and place the core inside. Or they can use the core via other means if they want to make a slime of a different subspecies than themself.
