Shadowforming

Keywords: SHADOWFORMING
Shadowforming is a learned ability of those who have dedicated some portion of their lives or existence to the study of shadows and related things. It is not exactly a form of magic, though it may appear to be to those looking on. It involves taking shadows within the room, pulling and manipulating them, focusing on their shaping to create solid or semi-solid objects from them. These objects will exist only momentarily, or indefinitely or anywhere in between, based on how much concentration is put into their creation. There are no limitations on what you might create, but there are physical limitations of the objects themselves.

Shadowformed objects may be in a range of densities, from nearly ephemeral to quite dense. Keep in mind that even though the density can be increased so that shadowformed objects might be as solid as steel, they are still formed of shadow energy made into matter, and will not have the same properties as steel. If you make a sword, for instance, it will likely shatter if you try to use it in combat. Shadowformed objects may be as rigid or as flexible as you desire from solid statuary to wearable clothing, though keep in mind the previous limit. If shadowformed clothing is pulled upon with force, it will rip and tear as easily as other fabrics, perhaps moreso depending on the focus and concentration given during its creation. Dropped creations of a more solid nature might shatter upon hitting the floor. Shadowformed objects that have lost their original intended shape, or the pieces remaining of that shape, will dissipate entirely back into shadow within a few minutes. Shadowformed objects are of course, made of shadow, and as such they are all one solid color, which might make more intricate details hard to make out, and while they may be painted once finished, things like dyes will not permeate them to color them in any way.

This is merely a series of guidelines to follow, rules of physical possibilities. Other questions may arise over time and those will be addressed when they come up and possible added to this file for clarity.
