The Shikigami, being chaotic creatures, lacks any sort of structure in their towns and villages. There are no leaders among them, though many turn to the powerful wizards of each town for advice and guidance when it is required. Otherwise, they do as they wish. Thankfully, the Shikigami find many things enjoyable, and thus they have many who are willing to work for the better of the town.
Shikigami structures are truly wonderous sights to behold. Beautiful, towering buildings made out of obsidian, these being obviously made by magical means. Indeed, almost everything made by the Shikigami is done by powerful magical enchantments. They tend to settle near volcanoes and other sources of great heat. They are sometimes found on chains of volcanic islands, but are never to be found in frigid climates.
The Fire Elves often make weapons and armor made out of obsidian, as this substance is readily available near their volcanic homes. Magically reinforcing the material so it is as strong as any steel, they make every tool, weapon, and piece of armor like a work of art, making great detail on each. They also make great works of art using this substance, and often trade this with other races in exhange for food, which may become rare at times in their homelands.
Possessing a natural skill with the blade, many Shikigami become warriors, though their lack of strength compared to most races can work against them in this field. The far most common adventuring profession, however, is that of a wizard, as many feel a natural affinity for magic, especially relating to heat or flame. Their natural agility also leads them to be good rogues, while clerics aren't unheard of. The Shikigami have lost their intimate connection to nature, however, and thus, rarely take up the path of a ranger.
As the wild, chaotic creatures they are, Shikigami rarely settle down with just one person, particularly with their long life spans (much as any elf). Though marriage isn't unheard of, most prefer to remain promiscuous, being with whoever seems to be the most fun at the time. These Elves are much like the fires they imitate, being quite wild lovers, but still possessing the natural charm of their Elven cousins, making them quite attractive to many races, especially Humans.
