Congrats on your new ship!
You are allowed 5 vnums total for the ship itself - 4 vnums for your ship and 1 vnum for your personal dock that will be linked where you prefer in Tirradyn.
Pirate ships, cruise ships, fishing.. ships and the like are acceptable. If you are seeking a war ship however, that will require extensive RP backing and permission from Staff via immrequest. Those seeking a war ship must either be part of a Guild, Empire, Religion and/or have acceptable RP that would involve need of a war ship as well as provide RP, funds/supplies to build the war ship along with arming it.
This ship actually travels the map moving through the seas, so there are a few things that will be required from you for us to set that up. Staff will add the flags that would be required in order for your ship to work properly with the code as well as a few other flags that enable privacy and prevent randomly leaving the ship somewhere it shouldn't be.
The following information is needed to complete setup of your ship. Go sail on a ship from Dragondale Port to another location to see these in action for examples or inspiration.
Name: Keywords used for the ship. IE: ship boat longboat black wood etc.
Short description: The short desc that people see when interacting. Can be colored.
Long description: What people see when they enter or look in the room. Can be colored.
Description: The full description of the ship when people look at it. Can be colored.
Arrival message: The message players see when the ship arrives at port. Can be colored.
Departure message: The message players see when the ship is pulling out of port. Can be colored.
Passage message: The message seen as the ship sails past. Can be colored.
Sailing message: These messages are what appear to players while sailing on a ship. An example is that of the dolphins that you see when sailing from port to port via ships already in TG. These 10 messages are separate from the above messages. They are usually triggered upon Waypoints and can be the scenery that is seen as the ship sails past, or can be random message of what might be seen while sailing upon the sea. You can also make them fit the scenic view of the various waypoint locations, referencing Nersa's Rocky Shores or Forest in the distance, for example. You can have up to 10 and they will need to be numbered as 0-9. These messages can also be colored.
You will need to pick 3 locations for us to to set for your ship to work:
The first will be the dock room you wish players to be able to board your ship.
The second is the starting room upon your ship that players will gather to sail.
The third is the destination room you wish your ship to reach.
IMPORTANT: Keep in mind you must gain port rights ICly in order to dock at your destination room. Once these locations are picked, we will use the vnum of said locations to set the waypoints accordingly, depending on how far the ship must sail from your dock, to your destination.
With waypoints, the ship will move through the waypoints until the last one is reached, or until it encounters an empty one, then it will move directly to the destination room. Travel time is approximately 15 seconds per waypoint. There will be up to 10 waypoints that Staff will place based on your starting room and your destination room.
The required information should be sent via immrequest to imm with immrequeset subject Ship Deed Details.
If you have any questions, please let us know!
Happy Sailing!
