HIDE

Keywords: HIDE, SNEAK
Syntax:
hide
sneak

Hide and sneak are similar skills, both related to remaining undetected. Hide has a very high chance of success, but only works for as long as the character remains stationary. Sneak may be used when moving (including sneaking by monsters), but has a lower chance of success. You can tell if you are sneaking or hidden by looking in your affects list. Even when hidden there is a slight chance you be seen. Someone affected by the detect hidden spell has a significantly higher chance of seeing you.

RP Combat Information:

Skill Name: Hide / Sneak
Attack Syntax: 1d20 + <Dexterity>
Passive Save: DC10 + Wisdom
Remarks: Until you are discovered or you stop hiding, the result of this Dexterity check is contested by the Wisdom check of anything that actively searches for signs of your presence. When you hide, there's a chance someone will notice you even if they aren't searching. To determine whether such a creature notices you, the DM will use a passive check (DC10+ Creature's Perception). See Help RP-Mechanics

- To Attack a hidden/sneaking enemy;
disadvatage is applied to attack rolls.
- If you are hidden/sneaking against an enemy;
advantage is given to your attack rolls.

The DM will let you know if you hide or sneak roll is successful against the enemy's passive perception. You give away you position when you attack- either successfully or unsucessfully. If you make a noise or otherwise give away your position, you lose your hide or sneak advantage.

NOTE: Thieves may use Hide/Sneak as a FREE ACTION in a round.
