About the Holiday
The Beacons of Illumination is the grand, recurring test of intellect and spirit established by Ravidya the Illuminator. When she first reappeared to the mortal realms, she sought to discover if any still possessed the Spark worthy of her favor. Ravidya is a being who exists beyond conventional morality and alignment, her sole concern is the advancement of knowledge and the overcoming of limitations through pure intellect and determination. She offers the Eight Trials as a crucible for mortal potential. These are not mere challenges of strength, but complex puzzles designed to teach and guide. Ravidya does not judge the methods or the morality of the participants, only the outcome. Success in a trial proves the application of a fundamental principle of progress. The ultimate prize, earning her Bastion by securing all eight tokens, is granted to the rare few who demonstrate they possess the Illuminated Spark, a quality that allows them to ignite progress and enlightenment in others. The holiday is a time when the entire world watches, hoping to see the beacons light, proving that mortals still have the capacity for greatness.

The Eight Trials
Over eight consecutive days, Ravidya manifests eight Unlit Beacons across the land. Each day, a new trial is revealed at a beacon site. These trials are never the same, but each is designed to rigorously test one of the eight core tenets of Illumination: Reason, Ingenuity, Invention, Self-Esteem, Logic, Failure, Courage, and Adaptation.

The Kindling of the Spark
Mentors, teachers, and parents give a small symbolic gift, often a book, a tool, or a puzzle box, to their proteges. This passes the responsibility for progress to the next generation.
