General Physical Description and Biology:
The Cinsiyet have iridescent, dewy skin that reflects a rainbow of color when the sun shines on it. Without light, the skin is smooth and usually a pale green color, though some do have other colors of skin, often mimicking the color of plant foliage. The eyes of these creatures are jewel bright, in colors of green, purple, ruby, sapphire, obsidian, and many more. The only time they are dull is when they are sick. It is said that if the creature is born with lusterless eyes, they might be blind. Green to blue gradient tendrils which can grow cover their heads and can grow in length down to their feet. These flow behind the Cinsiyet, feeling for vibrations in the air, giving inspiration for creating new songs. The Cinsiyet have appendages on their back, which are like tiny wings that open and shut when they sing, opening sound glands in hopes of being louder. They have leaf-shaped ears, mimicking oak or maple most often. Inside their chests are a number of extra vocal folds/chords. As an infant they are born with one set and grow stronger in power. The strongest can sing in five part harmony. Only pure Cinsiyet parings will produce another Cinsiyet.
Basic Personality:
Cinsiyet are shy but kind. It takes a little prodding to get them out of their shells because they feel they are abnormal. They can't control how many of themselves are talking at once, especially if there are four or five harmonies inside of them so they worry that when they speak, others will be confused. They love to sing and dance. They also love to collect shiny things and share them with their friends if they make any. They are not stupid, but they feel like life would be better off sung than spoken sometimes.
Origin and Lore:
Created from a patch of reeds one day when Nevalis was passing one day, the first Cinsiyet took form. She created a small home for herself near the water and smiled at the way the sun played on her iridescent skin. She was lonely though, so she prayed in song, her voice taking on multiple tones of beauty, to Nevalis and they created another Cinsiyet and soon the first family of Cinsiyet was born. For a long time, the Cinsiyet lived in secret, some staying by that same beach, and others moving on to other watery places like ponds and creaks. None have been seen so far.
Naming Convention:
Cinsiyet prefer to walk to the top of the highest place they can reach and still see their home near the water. If they can hear an echo when they open their sound glands and sing, they create a name based off of what the echo sounds like to them.
Preferred Habitat:
Cinsiyet prefer to live near fresh water mostly, though some live near salt water. Some live near water under ground in cave systems. They always try to build a home that looks like a sort of burrow, den or nest, depending on their mood and the materials available.
Society Structure:
Cinsiyet live wherever they want to and have little structure to their lives, which is probably why they are so shy. It is rare you would see a lone Cinsiyet though, for they usually live in large families with a matriarch as the head of the family.
Special Notes:
Write an Immrequest if you wish to have a Cinsiyet with a fourth or fifth harmony. The strongest one you could have naturally is three. They gain a Second harmony at 14 as they 'come of age. And another when they reach 'maturity' at about 18.
