STRING-EXTENDED
Keywords:
STRING-EXTENDED, STRING_EXTENDED
Category:
command
Syntax: restring <item> ed <field> [...]
Where <field> is one of the following:
add - adds a keyword and takes you into the editor.
clear - removes ALL keywords from an item.
edit - adjust an existed extended description.
remove - clears a single keyword on an item.
rename - renames an existing keyword on an item.
add : example restring cloak ed add dark forest green cape about This will both add the given keywords (note: do NOT enclose the keywords in apostraphes.) and bring you into the editor for the extended description, so be READY to enter the desc when you add the keywords. A good extended desc should include the material of the item, and how it is worn. Don't be afraid to describe the item from the perspective that you in particular are wearing it.
clear : example restring cloak ed clear
This will clear ALL extended descs (other than the base one) from an item. Use with caution.
edit : example restring cloak ed edit cape
This will bring up the editor for an extended desc that already exists on an item. Use this if you don't want to add a new keyword.
remove : example restring cloak ed remove cape
Use this to delete a single extended desc on an item.
rename : example restring cloak ed rename caep dark forest green cape about Use this to change the keywords of an extended description without changing its contents. This is a good idea if you typo'd a word when adding the extended desc (in this case, 'caep' was typo'd and then changed.)
You NEED to be familiar with help restring_rules as well. Ignorance sure as heck ain't bliss, and if you break a rule there will be consequences.
