Within the hells, Succubi make natural spies and informants (as well as concubines for powerful demon lords,) their seductiveness and natural inclination to such roles serving them well. Most Succubi and Incubi, however, work in the mortal world, visiting mortals. They exploit mortal weaknesses, promising love to the unloved, tempting the married to cheat and lie, and corrupting the otherwise pure of heart. Throughout all of these things, Succubi gain what they need most...their food.
Pleasure Demons require energy to survive, specifically those derived from passion and strong emotions. While any strong emotion can provide such energies, the most powerful and plentiful forms of energy come from emotions such as lust and love. These Demons have earned their colloquial name because of this, and their method of feeding involves stealing energy from those exhibiting such emotions. It's said that to have sex with such a demon is putting your life in peril, as they can steal away your very life. Indeed, such beings can steal a portion of your soul with nothing more than a simple kiss. Succubi generally only drain mortals, unable to draw the necessary energies from corporeal undead (as they no longer have such energies) and not able to feed from other Demons unless there is a large gap in power between the two.
Other powers are sometimes found in Pleasure Demons as well. Some of the more powerful Succubi and Incubi are said to be able to change form, being able to look at a person and shift to embody that person's idea of perfect physical beauty. Even a change of gender is not out of the question in such cases.
Rogues are the most common adventuring profession a Succubus or Incubus will take, their natural seduction able to get them out of jams and their usually lithe forms able to work in such situations well. Beyond this, nearly any profession is possible, though little connection with nature makes Ranger or Druidic classes an extreme rarity.
Succubi and Incubi as a rule do not love. They use mortal love to get what they want, food and another damned soul, but do not feel such emotions themselves except in exceptionally rare cases. For this reason, Succubi will jump from one mortal to the next, stopping at one only long enough to ensure that their work is done. Pleasure Demons do their best to get as much of a passionate response from their partners as possible (it is, after all, how they feed.)
