How to Play
Client Selection
First things first: choose a client to play with. Our playerbase favorites are Zmud and QMud for PC and FADO for Android devices. If you are using an Apple device, you may check the Apple App Store for a client.
Connection Info
You will need the following information to connect: Host: tirradyn.com Port: 9010
Account Creation
To create a new account, type new and press Enter. Type y and press Enter to confirm.
Enter a name for the account and follow the prompts. Your account name does not have to be the same as the name of one of your characters. You will also be asked to choose and confirm a password. When account creation is finished, you will reach the main account page.
Character Creation
From the account menu, type new to create a new character, then type y when asked to confirm.
Enter a name for your character and follow the prompts through character creation. Pay attention to choices such as race and class, since they will help shape your character's gameplay experience.
While you are in character creation, you can use the CREATION channel to see if someone is available to help.
Your First Steps
Once your character has been created, you will begin in the Newbie Area. This is where you will find Tirradyn's MUD School.
We strongly recommend completing MUD School. It introduces important game commands, basic survival and gameplay concepts, and features that are specific to Tirradyn.
Movement Basics
Tirradyn is explored by entering movement commands. Most directions can be abbreviated to a single letter.
Cardinal Directions
- N — North
- E — East
- S — South
- W — West
Diagonal Directions
- NE or T — Northeast
- NW or R — Northwest
- SE or G — Southeast
- SW or F — Southwest
Using the Number Pad
If your keyboard has a number pad, Tirradyn also supports these quick movement commands:
Northwest
North
Northeast
West
WHO
East
Southwest
South
Southeast
Number pad 5 displays who is currently online.
Getting Help
Tirradyn has several ways to find help when you are unsure what to do.
- Type helplist <keyword> to look for relevant in-game instructions.
- Use the OOC or QUESTION channels to ask other players for help.
- Newbie Helpers can be identified by their yellow * and may be able to help answer new-player questions.
- Tirradyn Staff can also assist when appropriate.
