General Description and Biology
Avians are small to medium sized bird-like humanoids. Many are covered in
colorful feathers that fit their bird archetype which can be greatly varied,
while others have human like skin with just wings and some feathers about
their person. Many have digitigrade legs covered in scutes and talons,
though some are more humanoid in form. What is common is their hollow bones
which makes them quite light and aids in their flight. They have a large
wingspan that is many times their height to allow for natural flight. Some
have only wings with hands on the ends with the feathers on their arms,
while others have both wings and arms. Some avian tails are long enough to
trail along the ground but these birds usually hold such tails aloft to keep
them clean. Avians have nictitating membranes that can close over their eyes
with a milky white film to protect them while flying. Like all
