Agathru (Changeling)

The Agathru, more commonly known as Changelings, as shapeshifters. In their
natural form, they have few distinct features with white or grey skin, no
hair and colorless eyes. They look monotone in color. They have no nose, no
lips, no ears and rounder heads. They are tall, lithe with long willowy
limbs in their natural form- which they very rarely are. Contrary to popular
belief, they are not made of fluid like the Limusi. Their skin, bodies and
bones can shift into new shapes, and while they cannot change their mass,
they can distribute it in various ways- changing their density to mask their
size when needed. They have no bones as traditionally thought, instead they
are made almost exclusively of muscle and small bladder sacks that hold them
into shape. To reproduce, two or more Agathru meld into one and break off
part of themselves to create a new life that is a blend of all of them. They
can replenish their mass through eating and food. Their diet is unique- they
are cannot consume salt without devastating consequences. While they can
tolerate small amounts with only minor digestive distress (usually laying
them low for a day), large amounts of salt can kill them if ingested. As
such, many of them tend to have a sweet tooth and be vegetarians. They can
touch salt, but prefer not to do so often, given their inability to digest
it without suffering and most don't want to accidentally consume any.

Like a chameleon, they can change their coloring. Their shapeshifting is
more magical than physical, but their biology makes it easier so it doesn't
cause them harm. They can create any facial features, hair, coloring or
adjust their size based on the mass. They can look like anyone, but struggle
to shapeshift into non-humanoids; though rarely some of the older
changelings can. They cannot transform into inanimate objects.

Variable. They are Social Chameleons.

The Agathru believe they are the first race, the one that all other races
sprung from. It is unclear if this is true or not. They have often been
painted as villains in society due to the fact that they can change their
form to suit needs, discarding faces as they need to. There are also rumors
that they have been used to displace rulers by stealing their face. For a
long time, they were hunted and killed for being what they are, causing them
to be very secretive of their identities.

The Agathru have a true name, based usually on the names of the changelings
that blended to create them, taking a syllable from each of their names.
Often times, this is not the name their share with others.

They can live anywhere, but prefer to be away from the salty sea.

They blend into any society. The Agathru tend to keep tabs on others like
them for breeding purposes. Familial bonds are very important to them, shown
in how they take part of the name of their progenitors, passing along these
names with every subsequent generation. Agathru are considered children
until they reach their first two decades where one or multiple of their
parents stay with them to teach them how to control their abilities. These
family units are known to them as they tend to 'resonate' with those who are
from the same line.
