General Description and Biology

Vary widely. Basic humanoid form: two arms, two legs, two eyes, one nose,
one mouth. No "extras" save for the fact they are follicularly gifted. Both
men and women grow thick beards and usually have thick, full hair. Extending
to body hair as well. They can be quite pretty, or quite ugly. They are
generally stout due to the extra layer of muscle they possess. Their bone
structure is also broad and they have large strong bones, perhaps from heavy
lifting and repeated impacts like mining or smithing. They have two livers
which gives them a robust and healthy constitution and may be the reason
their lifespan extends past that of a human. It is also why they are able to
process alcohol better than most races and in fact need to drink small
amount daily to maintain their digestive health.

Basic Personality

Varies greatly. Can be of any Ethos, but tend to Good or Neutral. They do
tend to enjoy their life and work. Many take pride in the things they
produce or services they provide.

Origin and Lore

The people of the hills and mountains, Dwarves are often thought of as
short humans. This is untrue. They are people of the mountains and the
earth. Perhaps made to embody work and strength. One of the earlier races to
emerge on Tirradyn, they have a long history of clans, development and
family.

Naming Conventions

Generally have a given name and a clan name. The clannames are usually
derived from the ancestral achievements or professions if the clan. They are
often referred to as "of someone". For example "Son of", "Daughter of" or
"Apprentice of". Their names tend to be 1-3 syllables with a tendency to
harder sounds. Example: Kilgore Goldshield, Son of Burnok Goldshield OR
Pulika Steelforge, Granddaughter of Ryngfaw the Champion.

Preferred Habitat

Generally prefer to live in communities, cities and settlements. They
prefer cooler mountainous regions and have a tendency to sweat excessively
in warmer climates due to their biology and extra layer of muscle and fat.

Society Structure

Live within the hierarchy of the territory they reside in. Within Dwarven
communities they tend to a Clan System with a Chief or King chosen for their
skill from within the clans. They are close knit within clans, family and
community, often regering to people as "cousin", "uncle" or "aunt" even if
not technically related. The clan and family work together to rear children
and teach them life lessons and skills to find the right place for them to
apprentice and prove their ability.
