Advanced dodge
Keywords:
ADVANCED_DODGE, ADVANCED-DODGE
Syntax: automatic
Advanced dodge is a skill learned only by Monks. It improves the character's natural agility to the point where many blows will miss the target. The chance of dodging is also affected by the dexterity of the attacker and the target. This skill is available at level 30.
RP Combat Information:
Attack Type: Melee
Attack Syntax: 1d20 + Reflex
Damage: N/A
Damage Type: N/A
Remarks: Once per combat round, a monk automatically may dodge the first attack that hits them during the round if they are not Incapacitated, Stunned, Prone or similar. To do this, they may roll an opposed dodge roll versus the attack. If they succeed, they dodge that attack. This may only be used once per combat round. If the monk is hit by multiple attacks by an enemy (eg. dual wield), they may only dodge the first attack that connects. If the attack is successfully dodged, the monk avoids damage.
Advanced Dodge, as opposed to regular dodge, does not need preparation and is considered a reflexive action during combat. The Monk may also dodge Area of Effect attacks and spells using this skill and avoid all damage instead of a half damage if the AoE allows for a saving throw.
