The disguise skill allows thieves and footpads to hide their appearance with a disguise. Disguises MUST be kept IC and something that is legitmate. Please use common sense limitations. Previously, the disguise skill was an actual command that allowed a player to change their short and long description manually, but this will no longer be used. Instead we are now allowing players to request the shapeshift command in order to better and more easily utilize their disguised forms for RP. Therefore, once a player has gained the disguise skill, they then must send in an immrequest to imm with immrequest subject Disguise Shapeshift Request to request their new shapeshift forms. You must request and be given this ability to use it.
How this will work is a thief or footpad with the disguise ability are approved a default of 2 shapeshift forms, however, they can have a MAXIMUM of 8 total disguise shapeshift forms. This will be based on their Charisma RPStat which will allow +1 shapeshift per Charisma stat with up to 8 total disguise shapeshift forms. If a player has an RPStat of Charisma +0 then they will get the 2 default shapeshift forms. However, if a player has an RPStat of Charisma +4, then they would receive 6 total shapeshift forms. If a player's Charisma increases over time as they level or gain better gear, they are able to request additional forms.
The use of disguise shapeshifts is basically a costume, a skill to change your appearance through artificial means. Applying the right makeup, wig or stuffing, any disguise is possible if you are able to portray the application of them through your RP. Such as a man disguising himself as an old woman with the proper items and skill. This would be described in a shapeshift form the same way you would describe your original character with a short description and long description.
Please keep in mind that this must work in an IC sense with your default racial abiltities. Disguises will not change a goblin into a giant or humans into dragons. Your disguized size will STILL be proportionate to your undisguised form.
Keep in mind, your disguise descriptions are still required follow the rules found in help short, help long-description, help letgain and help srp in regards to what is or is not allowed.
NOTE: The use of the shapeshift command is being allowed for the disguise skill to make this easier and more beneficial to thieves and footpads. That said, shapeshift is primarily a code that is used for players with the IC ability to actually -shift- forms which is -not- the ability a thief or footpad has with the disguise skill. Please note that the shapeshift use of change forms, roomshow and returndisplay are not to be used for disguise shapeshifts as they are meant for actual shifters. If this is abused, the shapeshift command for disguise will be removed from the player. Please note that using the default disguise commands is no longer allowed once you have requested and received the shapeshift command as this can be used to cheat and use more than the alloted number of disguises allowed.
