A Global is a live Event that has been imagined, written, built, and/or organized by one or more individuals whether they are staff members or players themselves. These events are similar to Table Top RPG session and utilize the RP Stat and Combat System. Usually globals will involve NPCs with stories or activities to unfold. It is a line that entertains, either comically, dramatically, or brings about conflict, crisis, and helps to build the mud while it stays within the overall story and theme of Tirradyn while building interaction and even in game lore.
The globals may be combat based, story based, or puzzles. See help Global-Types
If you wish to host a global, please send an immrequest to imm with a bit of basic information regarding the global so that staff can approve it and aid as needed. The Dungeon Master, or DM, who runs the global line should to log the RP, if they are able, and provide it to staff so we can keep a record of the history and lore of what occurs. If a log cannot be provided, a summary of key events and participants should be given.
In general, they will not exclude any player, save for that player's own desire not to participate either ICly or OOCly, unless there are IC reasons behind that character being excluded in participating in said global or for OOC reasons that are determined/approved by Staff based on extenuating circumstances. Generally, only one alt per Global Event unless otherwise stated.
A DM runs the event and is given "DM Powers" for the duration. Using these tools, the DM will leads the participants through the Global Event. Some Events may span several days or Sessions, a player may earn 1-2 DT per session they participate in. (See help Divine-Token for more information). In addition, with approval of the Staff, other rewards may be given- like unique pets, items from the event, money or extra RPXP.
NOTE: Some players might request permission to observe during a global for funsies. This is allowed per DM discretion, but the observer will not be awarded a DT nor will they be aware of what they observed on an IC stand point as they are only there OOCly.
