Nation name:
Hope's Hamlet

Geography:
The village is on Elzeothis, far away from any major territories. If any were to come in contact with the village, they would find it peaceful.

History:
Hope's Hamlet used to belong to a colony of ice giants, but they have left long ago, leaving only some tombs near the mountain, as well as some icy stairs which lead up to the mountain. Up on the mountain is a gray smeared castle which has been untouched except for a rogue band of pixies. Lately, the pixies have been driven out, but neither the Queen, nor the Mayor who works under her has done anything about the castle. A citizen of Hope's Hamlet who is merely a commoner has informed the mayor about the castle and the banishment of the pixies which happened with the aid of some foreign citizens from Dragondale and beyond. In the center of Hope's Hamlet is a pyramid which stands on stilts. The pyramid reaches high into the sky and the whole structure is made of ice. The Hamlet was built around this pyramid and soon became a village, though still retained the name of Hope's Hamlet. The queen and other citizens have no knowledge of the ice giant scrawling's, though they themselves have carved patterns into the icy streets.

Nation's History:
When the first King came upon the pyramid on the ice stilts, he and his band were weary of travel. They decided to set up camp here and rest for a few days. As this region is rather flat, save for the mountain far away, they wondered if they should build a settlement. They were hopeless, but this seemed to be a stroke of luck for them, so the first thing they did was to erect a statue of the god of hope, entirely made of ice. They placed faerie lights around it and rested at its feet to worship at the beginning and end of each day. Soon the Hamlet was built, and they carved their story into the streets and buildings of the Hamlet. Faeries came in ones and twos as the first King was replaced by his son, and then a daughter. Hope's Hamlet has stood there for many centuries and has now grown into a thriving village that could almost be called a town.

Timeline:
King Northen founded the Hamlet and ruled for 60 years. His son Winter then took up the ruling for forty years and died in an unexpected fire. His daughter Roseleaf ruled for twenty years, then moved away to seek other climates as she was an explorer, then came Queens Ranah and Hemla who ruled for thirty-five years. They were twins. Hemla's daughter was named Ivie, who rules now for almost ten years.

Historical Iconic Characters:
King Northen is of course iconical, as well as his Chief Commander Harv. Harv beat back a swarm of angry bees who had miraculously found their way to the greenhouses the fae kept plants in. Roseleaf was iconic in the fact that she was an explorer, and never left the kingdom for long until she gave the kingdom to her heir. She once brought back a cinnamon tree which was very rare indeed. She planted it herself in the hottest part of the greenhouse. There were a few iconic Mayors or Lieutenants, but not all have been documented. Ranah and Hemla were the first to rule the kingdom jointly.

Race:
Snow fae or other fae who take their chances in the cold weather.

Garments:
The snow fae dressed in light, summery dresses or suits even with the cold climate they lived in. They were the embodiment of cold, so had little to fear. They sometimes wore hats and mittens and boots, but that was mostly during the days leading up to Hope's Hand.

House Type:
The houses are mostly built for tiny fae bodies. Structurally, the houses are built of ice, as well as any other materials which may be around at the time.

Monetary System:
The money system is just the same as any other, due to the fact that long ago, around the time of the second king, an explorer came to Hope's Hamlet and taught the king that perhaps bartering might not be the best way to go about things.
