Government
The Kingdom of Kri�Xina was ruled by a monarch and an advising council. Normally ruled by a king throughout its history, Kri�Xina has seen women take the lead as well. The royal family had supreme rule, but the council handled daily affairs of managing the City Kingdom. Citizens of Kri�Xina were provided a free education paid for by the taxes collected from the trade being imported through its walls. Kri�Xina had a system of trials, with everyone being seen as innocent until proven guilty, but when a person was accused of a crime they were confined to a separate housing unit until their case was cleared before a judge and jury. The laws of Kri�Xina granted equal protections to all races and genders. Many laws were in place to ensure that trade would always flow smoothly through the city, and ensured the safety of those within.
Religion
Freedom of religion was practiced within Kri�Xina. Small shrines and temples once dotted the city, allowing travelers from all over to worship their god or goddess while there for trade. Kri�Xina did not have an official state religion, nor did it outlaw any, even those of gods that are more taboo to follow.
Culture
Education was highly valued within Kri�Xina. The government ensured both classes and training for all of its citizens. Men and women enjoyed the same freedoms and had the same opportunities to learn and improve themselves. Men and women were both expected to serve either three years in the military when reaching adulthood or work three years with the trade committee. Kri�Xina was mostly peaceful, fighting only to protect itself or the trade lines flowing into the city from around Hikaru. Kri�Xina once boasted one of the top magic schools in the realm, something its people took great pride in. Kri�Xina did have strict laws, with sometimes harsh punishments to ensure lower crime rates. Rich or poor, regardless of gender, from tiny fairy to massive giant, all were made to feel welcome and given a chance to have a better life. The motto of Kri�Xina was simply �Impress me�.
