How to Create and Edit a Room

Redit - OLC Room Editor
To create a room within the area, type redit create <room vnum> To edit an exiting room type redit while standing in the room, or redit <room vnum>

Sector Types - Choose the best suited sector for the room. Typing 'sector'
while in the editor will show all sectors that are avaialble.
type sector <sector type> to choose the sector you wish
Room Flages - Typing room alone will show all available flags.
type room <all room flags that apply> to set room flags.
Room2 Flags - Typing room2 alone will show all available flags.
type room2 <all room flags that apply> to set room flags.
Exit Flags - Typing exit alone will show all available exit flags.
type <direction> exit <all exit flags that apply if any> to
set the exits flags. You may also wish to name an exit by typing
<direction> name <exit name> or clear the exists name by typing
<direction> name none ie north name stone
Linking Rooms -A room can be linked in another room with one of two ways..
<direction> dig will create a new room using the first free room
vnum and link it to the specified exit location. Our you can use
<direction> link <vnum> to link the room to another room that
already exists. For more linking opetions see help exits
addecho - Add ambiance to the room with echos.
Syntax: addecho <firsthour> <secondhour> <percentage> echotext
For the echotext to be displayed to all in the room the following
must be met.
IC time hour is inbetween <firsthour> and <secondhour> (inclusive). A random number between 1 and 100 must be less than or equal to <percentage>
Examples:
addecho 19 22 10 a owl hoots in the distance.
(will be displayed froom 7pm to 10pm 10% of the time on the tick)
addecho 7 5 3 a bird sings.
(will be displayed froom 7am through to 5am the next day 3% of the time on the tick)
Extended Descriptions - Rather than creating a lot of items for a room, you can use
extended descriptions to showcase, paintings, or give items in the room a more
detailed description. Keywords are used as a way for those who come into the
room and wish to view them. You can have as many keywords on a single item that
you feel applies.
Syntax: ed add [keyword] - creates an extra description with specified keywords.
ed edit [keyword] - edits an extra description
ed delete [keyword] - deletes an extra description
ed format [keyword] - formats an extra description.
ed rekey [keyword] [keywords] - change the keywords of an extra description
ed show - will display extra descriptions in a room.
Other room commands: -
addmprog - adds an mprog to the room see help 'mprog'
addplace - adds places in the room where people can sit and converse in private.
see help 'places'
autoinn - turn you rooms into an inn see help 'autoinn'
rcopy - copies one room into the room you are standing in. see help rcopy
rdelete - will delete the room you are in by typing rdelete confirm. No items,
mobs, pc's resets or obj's can be in the room when deleting.
rlist - shows the list of rooms created in the area.
spirit - set a spirit mob to the room with spirit <spirit vnum>
