Smithing Gems

Keywords: SMITHING-GEMS, GEMS, GEMCUT, GEMCUTTING
Category: command
Gemcutting may be used in conjuction with Smithing to embed gems into the smithed Armor, Jewelry or Weapons. Gems may be found on occassion when mining. Each gem has unique qualities. For most of the precious and semi-precious stones the cuts will affect different stats, while the things that normally cannot be cut into these shapes such as bone, pearl or coral can still be set as cut, but those cuts will have no affect.

Before you embed your gems you may cut them one of two ways with the
gemcut command. Using gemcut will set that group of gems in your mine supply sheet as being of that cut and any embedding you do will embed them properly. Up to unique four gem types may be embedded into an item. The value of the bonus given by the gem depends on the item level and smith's skill and are described in the table below. Gems default to uncut if not set prior to embedding them.

Syntax:
gemcut <gem type> <cut type> - cut types include square, marquis, or uncut
