Kedanna: The Faith of Vantiga

Keywords: VANTIGA
Overview: Vantiga fulfills many roles in service to the Goddess. They bring comfort to the dying, serve as priests who bless marriages, and offer guidance to those who seek loves path. At times they tend orphanages, giving shelter to children left without family. In darker hours, they walk battlefields, granting mercy to the wounded and gathering the abandoned young from towns laid low by war or plague. It is even said that their temples sometimes host gatherings where hearts may find one another. Yet above all else, Vantiga is devoted to love and to the protection of children, even when that protection must come against the cruelty of their own parents.

- Honor, set a good example for the children
- Worship Goddess Kedanna, she knows best

Lore: "One is punished for breaking the rules, but for simply following them...are you ever truly rewarded?" This was the question the Goddess asked Herself during one of Her long and solitary meditations. The answer She found was simple: no; at least, not in this life. To live according to the standards of ones race or faith may bring reward in the afterlife, and to stray from them may earn eternal torment, yet in the realm of the living such balance rarely holds true.

It was with this revelation that Kedanna severed Her ties with the Kasimir; a faith renowned for its strict laws and rigid order; and set forth to create a new path shaped by Her own domains of power. From this choice, the faith of Vantiga was born. Kedanna quickly, and somewhat chaotically, established Her first temple in Chyndagh, along with the opening of the religions first orphanage. From the beginning, Vantiga gained a reputation as a joyful and playful faith, in sharp contrast to the harsh discipline of its Kasimir roots. Yet though it may appear lighter in spirit, the faith is not without law, and it can be ruthless toward those who would break its sacred tenets or bring harm to children.

Vantiga seldom seeks the front lines of war or worldly conflict, preferring to tend to families and safeguard the young. Still, when pressed, the faith has shown its power in the form of a great cannon atop the Chyndagh temple that has thundered in the past, a reminder that Vantiga is ready and willing to defend its way of life when threatened.
