. Long ago, when Kedanna took interest in the creatures of the realm, she was walking through her castle garden. Upon hearing a cry, she found her favorite cat playing with a small creature. A rabbit, though now dead, was in its jaws. Nearby, another small rabbit cowered, staring with sad, lonely eyes as the goddess. The goddess heart took pity on the poor creature, and seeing that it was lonely, she granted the rabbit the gift of speech. Talk to me little one, tell me your hurts.

Oh thank you great goddess, but that rabbit there was my only friend, and now I have no one to share love with. Moved, by the sadness, she decided to bring the rabbit to all of her new creations of people so he could make new friends. When the rabbit met the elves and mrems of the world, he became sad again. Why are you sad, little rabbit? The kind goddess asked. All of these people are very kind to me, but they all have others like them that they can love. I want to be loved as well. The goddess thought about this a moment and said But they do love you for who you are, little one.

They dont love me like they love each other. And I have no one I can love either. The goddess again was moved by the loneliness of this creature, so she granted a gift of change. The rabbit grew into a handsome elf. Here, little one. Go and explore the love that I have gifted to the realm.

With that, he sought out every race and creature that he could in Kedannas creation, exploring love and being loved. With time, he became the most loved creature in creation in a very short while. When Kedanna returned to see what her new elf thought of love, she found that he had loved far more than anyone else in the realm, perhaps too much. His love had spread to as many women as he could find. She became angry that instead of sharing the love, the elf had taken all the love for himself. Little one, if you love too much, there will be no love for anyone else. So she took the form back from the rabbit. Now with the gift of speech and the knowledge of love, the rabbit was even more heart broken. Knowing that he could never be loved in the same way again, he begged the goddess for mercy.

Seeing the pain she put in the creature, Kedannas heart was moved a third time. She granted the rabbit the visage of an elf, but still with the features of a rabbit. The others the rabbit had loved in his other form had children of the same rabbit features. Kedanna gave these to him as his first family with these words. There is one more love to learn, and that is love of family. Go out and grow your family, but you may not share your love with any others beyond those like you. With one last gift, she returned the first rabbit that was hunted by her cat to life, giving her a form as lovely as she could. I grant you one last gift. Love of kinship. Go with your family and prosper And so they did. The end
