Culture/Customs
1-Pressing or striking fist or weapon to chest is a sign of respect and even
greeting.
2-Bowing is only done when asking forgiveness for a major transgression and in
effect, one is offering their 'head' or life. In the case of the Council,
this is offering blood oath and undying service.
3-Seldom will a Bhamori's weapon not be found in his or her grasp or close at
hand.
4-Warriors of the Bhamori choose their mates by kidnapping them, or vying for
those that offer themselves as prizes in the Great Festival. Being a barbaric
people, there is method to the insanity of this. The women of the tribe are
highly valued, and respected, if a warrior has taken the time to get to know
her, then he will know her heart, and know her value. The gift that is
presented to the father, will tell him if the man truly knows his daughters
heart. If he is able to take her from her home, fight her family for her and
survive, then her father will be sure that the man will be strong enough to
protect her. It is a matter of making sure she will always be honored.
5-Challenges of Honor may be issued though those of higher rank need not accept
from one many below them. If the Master of Challenges is involved, all must
accede to his/her decision in the form the challenge shall take and his/her
decision as to the outcome.
6-There is only one head of the Yurt/Family and it is always the Man.
7-If a gift is received a gift is given
8-There is no 'choosing' which tribe one belongs to, as they belong to the
tribe they were born into. To attempt to leave one tribe for another, to turn
their back on their Khan would be seen as a huge dishonor and no other tribe
save the Torvian's would take them in and they would become shorn. Exiled
from the tribes and their name forgotten.
9-When a woman is mated, she keeps to the tribe she was born into, meaning that
she will always, in a sense, belong to that tribe, as well as the tribe she
as been mated into. Her daughters will be taught the way of her born people,
while her sons will be taught the way of their fathers. This ensures that
their history will never be lost or forgotten.
10-Matng outside of the tribes is rare, though has happened in the past. Those
who are chosen as a mate but are not of the tribe, must be willing to become
a part of the tribe through trials and must agree to live by tribal culture
and laws. Any dishonor committed by ones mate, is a dishonor on the mate as
well and can result in both being shorn, or put to death depending on the
dishonor made.
11-The age of adulthood for the tribes is sixteen. This is when they go throuh
their rite of passages, trials, and can begin 'dating'.
12-Having sex with one who is not even old enough to go through their trials
(sixteen or above) is a huge dishonor, and will get the person shorn from
the tribe, becoming exiled and their name forgotten.
OOC - Sex means anything below the waist.
13-The women of the tribe are given great respect as a mate, they are not
only the way the tribe remains alive through offspring's, but are also their
mates advisors, as well as their best friend/confidant.
OOC - Because the tribal concept, is perhaps the most difficult of all the other concepts on the mud to play with their high regard for honor, their uncivilized and barbaric nature, anyone who wishes to play any of the races that are more war-like in nature, must first play one of the creation selectable ones. This will enable them to learn the tribes concept and nuances with less chance of their character getting killed or shorn. Once you feel you have a good grasp of the concept, you may then request one of the other tribal races. If you just want to be a RAWR barbarian!! It's suggested that you go straight human, and create your own tribal concept. :)
