Follow Through
Keywords:
FOLLOW-THROUGH, FOLLOW_THROUGH, FOLLOWTHROUGH
Syntax:
automatic
Follow Through is a level 100 passive skill learned only by Monks. When the monk lands a damaging hit where Physical Damroll is applied, their positive STRENGTH modifier cuts through the target's defenses before IRV is applied.
This does not add extra damage. Instead, part of the damage already rolled is applied directly, and the rest is resolved using the IRV for that hit's damage type.
RP Combat Information:
Skill Type: Passive, Attack Modifier
Attack Syntax: Automatic on each damaging hit where Physical Damroll is applied
Damage: See Remarks
Damage Type: Direct damage for the bypassed portion; triggering hit's damage type for the remainder
Automatic Hit / Saving Throw: No additional roll
Remarks: Follow Through applies once per successful damaging hit where Physical Damroll is part of the damage roll. Damage equal to the monk's positive STRENGTH modifier bypasses IRV and is applied directly to the target. Any remaining damage from that same hit is then resolved using the IRV for the hit's damage type.
Example: A monk with +5 STRENGTH lands three hits in a round where Physical Damroll is applied. The hits deal 13, 9, and 4 damage. The first hit applies 5 damage directly and resolves the remaining 8 with IRV. The second applies 5 directly and resolves the remaining 4 with IRV. The third applies all 4 directly.
