Personalizing Equipment and Objects
Keywords:
PERSONALIZE, PERSONALIZATION
Category:
command
The Personalize command allows a player to spend Quest Points(QP) to personalize a relic or quest item. Each field of personalize charges 50qp each time. For instance, if you fully personalize an item with a name(50), short(50), long(50), and extra desc(50) that will be a total of 200qp, but if you only want to change the short and long, that will only cost you
100qp.
Important Note: anyone under level 100 must go to the quest office or within select cities to personalize their gear.
Syntax:
personalize <object> name <keywords>
personalize <object> short <string>
personalize <object> long [string]
personalize <object> extended
personalize <object> ed <keyword>
personalize copystring <object to copy> <object to copy to>
Available fields: name, short, long, extended, ed
name: This sets the item's keywords, which are what you type to pick it up. There should NOT be color codes in this, as that would make you have to use the color codes to pick the item up. A good idea is to take the keywords that are in the short description and put them in here. There's nothing more frustrating than not being able to figure out an item's keywords! Another good idea is to put the item's wear location as a keyword as well.
example: personalize cloak name dark forest green cape
short: This sets the item's short description, which is what people see when you wear and remove it, and when they look at you. This can have colors in it to add personal style. It's generally a good idea to have a hint of the item's material in the short description unless it's easily understood (for example, most people would assume a cape is made out of cotton or something like that, but just having a 'breastplate' can be a bit deceiving since it could be anything from copper to adamantine.)
example: personalize cloak short `ga dark forest green cape`x
(Shows: a dark forest green cape)
long: This sets the long description of the item, which is what shows up when someone sees when the item is on the ground. This will also be the default "examine" description if an extended description is not added so some additional flavor can be added here. Be sure to keep some of the name keywords in the long description. Color can be added to a long description as well. Using personalize <object> long with no string opens the editor for longer descriptions.
example: personalize cloak long `ga dark forest green cape of blended wool is here, the elvish embroidery gathering dust.`x
(Shows: a dark forest green cape of blended wool is here, the elvish embroidery gathering dust.)
extended: This sets the extended description of the item that players will see when they "examine" the item, giving you the ability to create extra detail for your item. Using personalize <object> extended opens the editor for the default extended description. Using personalize <object> ed <keyword> adds a keyworded extra description and opens the editor for it.
Personalize is subjuct to the rules in help personalize_rules as well. Please familiarize yourself with them.
Note: The hero 'string' command and personalize are not interchangeable personalize. Personalize is needed for relics and quest items.
Note: Add a `x to the end of the short description to prevent color bleeding to the next line.
