Red slimes, also known as volcanic slimes, are the only slime that likes hot temperatures. They don't dehydrate the way other slimes do but as a result they also have a unique diet. They tend to be found near active volcanic areas living off the fresh volcanic rocks and ash.
Appearance: Red color in appearance, maybe a bit of yellow flaked in. These slimes also radiate heat and if in a cooler area might also be radiating steam from the difference in their body temperature. Due to this they have an extreme dislike of cold climates and avoid snow and ice when possible.
Scent: There's a sulphuric scent about red slimes
Taste: A red slime is extremely spicy, so spicy in fact nobody has been able to nail down the exact flavor of spice.
Alignment: Red slime very heavily in alignment from good to evil.
Personality Quirks: Red slimes tend to be hot heads and temperamental being easy to anger.
Special Diet: Red slimes are not omnivores like other slimes, instead they are lothavore digesting rocks. They need to ingest sulfur in particular in order to properly heal their injuries.
Advantages: Likes high temperatures, they don't dehydrate like other slimes.
Disadvantages: It takes longer for them to digest their meals than other slimes so it takes them twice as long to regenerate lost slime. 2 hours per gallon of slime instead of the normal one hour. While light rain doesn't hurt a red slime it is annoying and being submerged in water causes 1d4 damage per round.
Breeding: Red slimes require the genetic material of races that can handle high temperatures such as a Daevulf to produce a new slime core.
Dormant Core Appearance: A red pitted gem resembling a ruby, warm to the touch.
SPecial Note: A dormant red core requires volcanic lava to regenerate and come back from the brink. A red slime that hits 0 PHP while submerged in water has its core go instantly dormant to protect itself.
Preferred Class: Warrior, Monk
