Smithing is an optional thing here on Tirradyn, but it can be of great help to those who like to make their own equipment. This skill will allow a player to create Armor, Jewelry and Weapons with unique stat modifiers.
Smithing requires the player to be at an anvil type object. These objects may be found in different locations around the realms. So long as the player is at an anvil, they may smith jewelry, armor or weapons if they have ingots on hand for the construction. To see all of the things you can smith along with their costs in ingots, type smith costs. Failure will use a quantity of ingots. Skill level will effect the quality and success rate of the item. Some objects that you smith will be of higher quality, and these items may gain natural bonuses beside what any gems you've embedded will provide.
You may set customized names, short descriptions, and long descriptions for your items if you like, or you may simply choose to use the standard default for items which appears as 'a poorly made silver helm crafted by Trellan', depending on the quality of the item and its material. If you choose to set your own details on the object, this must be done first.
The following EQ Types may be created with the smith skill.
Weapons: sword, spear, dagger, mace, staff, axe, flail, polearm, whip, sickle *
Martial Weapons: kyoketsu, tanto, ken, naginata, kama, nunchaku, sansetsukon, bo, yari, sai
Armor: plate, helm, sleeves, gauntlets, shield, leggings, boots
Jewelry: mask, earring, necklace, bracelet, ring, anklet
* NOTE: Smithing does not create ranged weapons, this will require the construction skill.
Syntax:
smith name <name>
smith short <short description>
smith long <long description>
smith extended
smith level <level>
smith armortype <type> -(light, medium, or heavy)
smith twohander
