Long Descriptions

Keywords: LONG, LONG-DESCRIPTION, DESCRIPTION
Category: command
Syntax: desc

For Player Characters, a long description is what people see when they use the
LOOK command on you. The purpose of your long description is to describe the outward appearance of a character in detail. It can be nearly as long as you want, but you will need at least eight formatted lines of description before you can become letgained, which is required by level 15.

There are several rules regarding PC Long Descriptions:

* Use color in moderation. If your desc is painful to read, you'll be asked to tone down the colors.

* Do NOT put actions in your description. For example, do not suddenly grin, wave, or threaten the person who looked at you in your desc. Do that with emotes, as sometimes it's not possible for you to perform these actions just because you were looked at.

* Similarly, do NOT force actions on others. Not everyone will cringe in horror from your draconian, and not everyone will be filled with lust at the sight of your succubus. Not everyone will think you are the greatest beauty and will be unable to remove their eyes from a portion of your person.

* Do not put feelings or thoughts in your long. These often aren't always visible, and can change from moment to moment.

* Similarly, do not put in a character's history or personality in your long. These things are not readily visible.

* Do not put clothing in your long. That is what equipment is for.

* Follow your racial guidelines. If you put wings on a race that doesn't have wings, you'll be asked to remove them. If you go wildly outside of your race's height/weight parameters, you'll be asked to change them.

* A picture link can be used to supplement a description, but it will not replace one. A link does not count as one of the eight lines necessary to be letgained. for that ther is the url command. it stores a link for you instead of having to put it in your long description.
