Relics and Relic Points

Keywords: RELIC, RELICS, RELIC-ITEMS, RELIC-POINTS
Relics are magical items that have been enchanted with such powerful magic that they have nearly gained a life of their own. An item with the flag before its short is a relic.

Relics gain experience from the slaying of mobs. They do not gain experience from Roleplay XP. You may send an
Immreq with the subject Relic Levels to use one of these alternate leveling methods:
1. 10 Quest Points per relic level, with a minimum of 10 levels at a time.
2. 1 Divine Token to level the relic to 100.

As a relic levels, its basic stats improve, such as damage dice or AC. A relic cannot level beyond its owner. Relics also gain relic points as they level, up to a maximum based on the power of the relic.

Relic points may be distributed to stat modifications, IRV bonuses, and weapon flags. Some equipment slots have unique options.

The following is a list of valid modifications and relic point costs:
Stat Cost/StatPoint Max Bonus Cost at Max
hp/mana/move 10 100 1000
hitroll/damroll 60 25 1500
spellhit/spelldam 60 25 1500
All Stats 50 15 750
IRV 200 5 1000
Flags 2000 4* 8000

* You may apply 1 relic flag from each of the following groups, for a total of 4 altogether. See help weapon-flags and help rp-weapon.
Elemental: Flaming, Shocking, Frost, Poison
Divine: Vampiric, Holy, Annealed
Drain: Enervate, Suckle
Edged: Sharp, Vorpal

Target a relic directly by name. If you have duplicate relics, use numbered targets such as
1.sceptre or 2.sceptre. Legacy syntax without relic name>targets the first handy relic in your inventory, so pop may still be used to move a relic to the top before distributing.

Syntax:
relic list [Show all relics worn or in inventory]
relic info <relic name> [Show relic stats and available points]
relic dist <relic name> <STAT> <value> [Add a stat bonus]
relic dist <relic name> flags <flag name> [Add a weapon flag]
relic irv <relic name> <IRV Type> <value> [Add an IRV bonus]
relic undistribute <relic name> <bonus> <value> [Remove a bonus and restore points]
relic restat <relic name>|all [Reset relic points]
relic delete <relic name> [Permanently delete a carried relic]
relic refund <relic name> [Refund an eligible Divine Armory relic at a matching vendor]
relic twohander <relic name> [Allows you to make a relic so it can be used with two hands]

Examples:
relic dist 1.sceptre hp 100
relic dist 1.sceptre flags vorpal
relic irv 1.sceptre slash 5
relic undistribute 1.sceptre hp 50

Relic delete: Deletes a carried relic after two confirmations. Relics being worn cannot be deleted. Deleted relics are permanent and are not refunded. See help relic-delete.

Relic refund: Refunds eligible Divine Armory relics for divine tokens. You must be at a vendor that currently sells that exact relic type. Restrung names do not matter, but fake lookalikes do not qualify. Relics being worn cannot be refunded. See help relic-refund.

Helpful Tip 1: You must distribute all IRV points at once, as you can only have 1 IRV type per relic.
Helpful Tip 2: Adding Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Wisdom, Intelligence, Charisma, or Luck adds bonuses to your RPStat block. Every +100 to those stats adds +1 to the RPStat block. See help rpstat.

To restring a relic, use the
Personalize command and spend Quest Points. See help personalize.

WARNING: Do not use coded racial/class skills or spells on a relic. These can break the relic. Examples include sharpen and spells that add elemental effects to weapons.
